What It Funds

How Cancer Care works

Because if your child is sick, that should be the only requirement.

When Olivia's family was in the middle of her treatment, they were turned away from nearly every financial assistance program they found — not because they didn't need help, but because of their income. Rebecca has never forgotten what that felt like.

Stargrace Cancer Care exists to make sure no family hears that answer from us. There is no income test, no financial verification, and no runaround. If your child is sick, that is all you need to qualify.

Who qualifies: Our Cancer Care programs support families with children ages 0–18 who are actively receiving treatment in the oncology departments at Geisinger and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Families in active treatment may apply for one emergency grant per calendar year. As the foundation grows, we hope to expand this program to additional hospitals.

Emergency Family Grants

Live

$1,000

Emergency grants of up to $1,000 are available to families of children receiving treatment in the oncology department at selected hospitals. These grants help cover costs such as travel, food, lodging, lost wages, and other urgent expenses. Requests are verified by the hospital social worker. There is no income verification required, and our goal is to provide a decision and funding within one week.

Joy & Hope Boxes

Live

Each year on Liv's birthday, July 28th, Joy and Hope Boxes are delivered to selected hospitals. These special boxes are filled with comfort and happiness for oncology patients, their siblings, and mothers. They contain cozy fuzzy blankets, games, journals, water bottles, and some of Liv's favorite things.

Funeral Expense Assistance

Live

$1,000 one-time

A one-time grant for families who have lost a child to pediatric cancer. Not a large sum. But something, at a moment when the last thing a family should be doing is calculating costs.

Star Dedications

Live

A star in Liv's sky, named for a child. Every dedication is read by the foundation before it shines, and the family keeps a link that leads straight to it — a permanent place to visit, and to share.

Sibling Support Fund

Phase 2

Scholarships for siblings' activities, counseling, and camps — because brothers and sisters carry their own weight through a pediatric cancer diagnosis, and they deserve to be seen too.

Our Hospital Partners

We work hand-in-hand with leading children's hospitals.

Families reach our Emergency Family Grants through the social workers and care teams at the hospitals where their children are treated. We're proud to partner with two of the region's finest pediatric institutions.
